The Fairmont Princess: An Ultimate Vacation Destination

If you're a follower of this blog, you probably know I'm what some would call a die-hard Disney fan. You probably also know I am a travel specialist.

Considering those two things, I doubt there is any surprise when I say I hold Disney Park vacations at the top of my vacation suggestions! However, today we're talking about a different type of vacation destination all together.

Scottsdale.

To be more specific, this post is all about The Scottsdale Princess. Over the next few weeks I'll be releasing articles on where to stay and what to do in Scottsdale.

But first, a little background to this fair city.

Located 13 miles (roughly 21 minutes), from Phoenix, it makes for a great commute when flying, with no end of possibilities when it comes to recreation and relaxation.

As a town rich in culture, hospitality and landscape, Scottsdale has been growing rapidly in the last decades. In 1960, the population was about 29,600 in total. Today, it has reached 250,602 - a total increase of 221,002 in sixty years!

What was still considered "old west" six decades ago, has now become a significant player in the travel industry and a game-changer in the way you think of family vacation.

Speaking of which, let’s talk family holidays!

If you love Christmas and like winter - but not a cold one- The Scottsdale Princess might just be your holiday home!

And after a tour of my own, I'm here to shed some light on this wonderland for you.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The Fairmont, a staple in hospitality among Scottsdale’s finest, has so much more to offer families than one might assume at first glance.

With beautiful views and sparkling room designs, it’s no surprise they stay busy - but the first and perhaps biggest accolade the Princess has is being the Host Hotel of the Waste Management’s Phoenix Open!

The TPC golf stadium course is not only in the backyard of the Princess, but it has an access gate. With golf experts on staff, they’re not only able to accommodate rentals, transportation for tee times and create personalized itineraries - but you can enjoy a PGA tour golf day at the course!

Another intriguing pass time for Winter At The Princess is The Village, The Kids Village, Campfire Park, & The Rink.

Winter at the Princess

The Village, full of family fun, offers a snow mountain you can sled down, the Alpine Skate Trail, a ride on a chair lift, live entertainment, an Ice Maze and perfectly winter-like decor!

A Perfect getaway for adults and family alike!

The Kids Village is designed for children ages 2-8. There, they can meet Bernie the St. Bernard, ride the Lolli Swing, Alpine Slide, the Flying Dragon and the Cool Bears! What better way to surprise the little ones?

The Campfire Park allows guests to listen to live entertainment while enjoying complimentary fire pit seating. They can even roast s’mores, enjoy winter drinks, partake in axe throwing or try their hands (and feet) at the rock wall!

At The Rink, guests can enjoy their time skating on 6,000 sq feet of REAL ice, beneath twinkling lights! Alongside the Rink are Luxury Fire Pit Tables that you can rent for up to 4-8 guests.

Other noteworthy attractions include onsite shopping at the Chalet Ski + Sun Shop, outdoor dining at The Lodge, outdoor games and the Waffle Co. stand!

If you’re not up for Winter at the Princess - that’s okay, they’ve got you covered for other seasons too.

With plenty of activities to do year-round, from their luxury spa, on-site salon, pools and gym, you’re never going to get bored.

The Princess also has their share of pool time movie parties and fireworks.

But there's plenty more surprises up their sleeve for you and your family to discover whilst you stay at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. You've just got to get there first.

Stay tuned for my coming posts in this series on the Canopy, Hermosa Inn, the Hyatt Regency & The Phoenician hotels in Scottsdale, AZ.

And don't forget to reach out to Once Upon A Time Travel to book your next vacation - I got you.

Until next time!
